If you need to access your LAN devices like your printer, your NAS, or another machine on your network whilst you’re connected to Windscribe, you should have this setting enabled.
A local area network (LAN) is a collection of devices connected together in one physical location, on one network, such as your home or office.
When you Allow LAN Traffic, you will be able to access other devices or systems on your network while the VPN is connected, such as your printer or NAS.
When you disable this feature, you will no longer be able to access other devices and systems on your network, when connected to the VPN.
LAN traffic bypass on the desktop apps allows traffic exchange to and from IPv4 link-local addresses, IPv4 multicast ranges, and IPv4 RFC1918 ranges. On Android apps, the subnet is determined by your LAN IP address and traffic exchange to and from only that subnet is allowed. On iOS, we use excludeLocalNetworks.
