Split Tunneling allows you to select which of your apps access the internet using the VPN and which ones don’t. Available in our Windows and Android apps and in limited capacity on MacOS (IP address and Hostname only).
Selected applications and / or hostnames and IP addresses are excluded from the VPN tunnel, and use your ISP assigned IP.
Selected applications and / or hostnames and IP addresses are tunneled over the VPN. Everything else uses your ISP assigned IP.
Select applications to include or exclude from the VPN tunnel.
Input IP addresses or hostnames to include or exclude from the VPN tunnel, regardless of the application calling them.
Some applications, like banking apps, may not work if you're using them while connected to a VPN. Instead of shutting off your VPN, you can exclude them from the VPN tunnel. Alternatively, you can tunnel only the applications you want, and exclude everything else.
Regardless of whether Split Tunneling is enabled and which mode you are using, when connected to Windscribe, ROBERT (or the in-app Custom DNS server, if set) is used system-wide. Apps excluded from the VPN tunnel will still have their DNS requests served by ROBERT (or the in-app Custom DNS server, if set).
